The Illinois Organized Retail Crime Association (ILORCA) recently hosted a gift card fraud virtual event with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to educate retailers about the increased activity around gift card fraud by organized criminal groups.

HSI provides warning signs that a gift card has been tampered with, as well as resources for businesses about recognizing and responding to gift card fraud. ILORCA’s virtual event provided important insights into the ways criminal networks are exploiting retailers to fund broader organized crime.
