IRMA and its members continue to identify and develop new and innovative initiatives, programs and services that impact the bottom lines of businesses.

Long before Illinois deregulated its electric and gas markets, IRMA provided its Members with important legislative and regulatory proposals and changes. IRMA also directed retailers to the right people and resources to help with public utilities matters. 

While this support continued through Illinois deregulating its markets, additional services and programs were developed including IRMA and its Members, together, advancing an energy procurement program that continues to evolve and expand today. 

IRMA Member-companies, including those that employ the country’s most respected and knowledgeable national energy managers, move forward having two decades operating in Illinois’ deregulated market. They continue to influence and drive product development, pricing and contract transparency, and buying strategies.

IRMA credits its Members for the success deregulation has experienced in Illinois and across the country sharing their expertise, experience and recommendations for the benefit of the entire Membership and, ultimately, all customers operating in deregulated markets. Efforts continue in identifying and developing new and innovative initiatives, programs and services that impact the bottom lines of businesses.

Constellation Procurement Program

With the urging of its Members, IRMA developed a multiple supplier procurement platform. In addition to the Association’s long-time single supplier, the platform includes a select number of the country’s most sound and reliable suppliers.

IRMA is the first, and, to date, the only non-for-profit organization to be granted an ABC (Agent, Broker and Consultant) license by the State of Illinois, the license required to obtain pricing from more than one single supplier.

With state ABC licensure, services the Association always provided its Members did not change. What did change, is IRMA Members are now able to obtain offers from multiple, reliable energy suppliers through the Association’s Energy Program.

The Illinois Retail Merchants Association (IRMA) chose Constellation as their endorsed energy supplier to provide value to members like you. Efficiency and Sustainability

The Illinois Retail Merchants Association (IRMA) works to help Members access incentives and rebates from various sources to recover the maximum dollars available when implementing Efficiency and Sustainability efforts. This includes keeping Members informed on incentives available from utility companies in Illinois.

In addition to staying up to date on available energy efficiency incentives and opportunities, IRMA keeps an eye on emerging technologies and R&D opportunities, working together with Members to identify beneficial and cost savings products and services.

Utility Assistance and Contact Information

Energy-related updates, programs and services –including Utility Assistance Services– are available to Members of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association (IRMA) regardless of their procurement decisions.

Since its inception, IRMA has gone the extra mile assisting Members with all issues affecting their electric and gas services, helping to navigate and direct Members to the right people, the right resources, and the right information in a timely fashion. IRMA assists Members in their efforts to access help with billing and service issues, helps Members navigate ‘new construction’ protocols, stays current on energy data tools provided by our utilities, and more.  Most importantly, we work to ensure Members receive accurate information knowing the wrong information can have costly implications. Members are also provided information about, and assistance with, Energy Efficiency Programs such as available incentives and rebates, and special programs and opportunities provided through Illinois utility companies; below are links to these programs.
