  CHICAGO TRAVEL QUARANTINE

The City of Chicago has imposed a quarantine on travelers entering the city from states with high COVID rates.   In response to increased and high rates of COVID-19 transmission in certain states within the United States, and to add to Chicago’s efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, Chicago Department of Public Health issued an Emergency Travel Order directing travelers entering or returning to Chicago from states experiencing a surge in new COVID-19 cases to quarantine for a period of 14 days. The order applies to states that have a case rate greater than 15 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 resident population, per day, over a 7- day rolling average. The order may be found here.   CHICAGO COVID-19 IMPACT UPDATE   In order for Chicago to move to the Moderate Incidence risk level which will allow the city to open up capacity to 50% and allow gatherings of up to 100 people, it has to get below 100 new cases per day and stay there for 14 days.     The per day averages citywide as of July 2nd are 174 confirmed cases, 3,794 tests completed, and 8 deaths. (based on a 7 day rolling average)   To date, there has been 52,813 confirmed cases in the City of Chicago with 2,623 confirmed deaths and a 4.6% positivity rate.   Additional information may be found here where you may select different data points such as zip code, ethnicity, age, gender, cases, tests, death, etc.   ILLINOIS COVID-19 IMPACT UPDATE   In the last 24 hours there has been 869 new confirmed cases and 36 deaths.    IDPH is reporting a total of 144,882 cases, to date, including 6,987 deaths. 

The state has conducted 1,666,317 tests to-date.

REGIONAL PROGRESS REPORT   Under the Governor’s Restore Illinois plan, in order to move from Phase 3 to Phase 4, each of the four medical regions must have a surge capacity of at least 14% for hospital beds, ICU beds and ventilators.
