GOVERNOR’S BRIEFING

Governor JB Pritzker‘s daily briefing consisted of reporting the updated numbers which are as follows: 2,119 new cases in Illinois, including 80 additional deaths.  IDPH is reporting a total of 43,903 cases, to date, including 1,933 deaths, in 96 of Illinois’ 102 counties. 

As of midnight, there were 4,595 individuals hospitalized as a result of COVID-19. of those, 1,267 or 27.6% are in the ICU. Of those in the ICU, 772 or 60.9% are on ventilators.

Over the last 24-hours, the state has conducted 13,395 tests.

FACE COVERINGS SUPPLIERS

Beginning May 1st, everyone in Illinois will be required to wear a facial covering when in a public place. In order to assist retailers in the procurement of facial coverings, IRMA will pass along supplier information as received. Retailers can review and contact the supplier of their choice on IRMA’s website
